Megamania 2011
NSG are running an expedition to the Megamania area from 3-11th
December 2011.
Other members of NZSS are welcome to join the expedition.

Dates:
The cut-OFF date for joining this
expedition is 1st OCtober 2011 - thanks to all those who have already
committed.
| Saturday 3rd December 2011 |
Travel to Kohaihai (S41 6.564 E172 6.186) at
the West Coast end of the Heaphy Track, camp there for the night. |
| Sunday 4th December 2011 |
Helicopter from 8am, taking group gear in, and anyone who
wishes to fly in.
Others walk in up the Heaphy Track.
First cave trip will be on Sunday afternoon. |
| Monday 5th - Friday 9th |
Caving in Megamania, Beyond Words, Minimania, Coppers,
Field Caves. Potential for prospecting, surveying and other
trips.
Camping in bush beside river. |
| Saturday 10th December |
Pack up for helicopter pickup of group gear at midday,
and anyone who wishes to fly out.
Walkers begin walking about 8am, to reach Kohaihai at the
same time as the helicopter.

Options:
People are welcome to join or leave the expedition during the week,
by walking from either end of the Heaphy Track.
Cost:
There will be an expedition charge which will cover group gear
- communal flys and cooking area equipment, ropes, fuel, first aid,
food; the helicopter transport of this gear, and the transport of
personal packs. This charge will apply to both those who walk in
and those who fly in, and to those who join/leave the expedition
mid-week.
People are welcome to fly one or both ways. There will be a per
person per flight charge for this.
